La Maison Verte is a charming renovated and comfortable house, decorated with great care and situated in the village of La Bussière in the idyllic lush Ouche valley. With its 3 bedrooms all with new matrasses) and 2 bathrooms,fully equipped fitted kitchen,dining room, spacious lounge with television video dvd hi-fi , an enclosed garden with in July and August a plunge pool for the children and an attractive covered terrace with barbeque/open fireplace for 'al fresco' dining, it has been designed to make you feel at home. The house is fully equipped. This also includes dishwasher,washing machine and tumble dryer. Bedlinen and towels are also provided.Beds are made on arrival .

You are within walking distance of a wonderful bakery, a bar and 2 restaurants. The house is an Ideal base for walking,cycling,mountain biking and horse riding but you are also within half an hour's drive of the stunning cities of Beaune and Dijon and their surrounding vineyards producing wines of world reknown

La Maison Verte is situated in the village of La Bussière in the Ouche valley within a minute's walk to the local grocers, bakers and bar ,canal and river. There are two restaurants within walking distance, one at the Abbaye de la Bussière (one star in the Guide Michelin) and one which sits on the canal just one lock down from La Bussière.

The house is in the middle of the beautiful countryside with its hills and forests and ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing. You can also:

Rent a canoe or kayak at Sainte Marie(8 km) to go down the river

Visit medieval Chateauneuf, one of the most beautiful villages of France with its chateau (9km.)

Go swimming or windsurfing at the Lac de Panthier(15 km) or at the reservoir de GrosBois (20km.)

Visit the stunning cities of Beaune and Dijon with their museums, markets and shopping centers

or the famous vineyards and wine villages of the Côte d'Or,with many opportunities for wine tasting (30km.)

Thanks to friends we have discovered this beautiful valley and this gorgeous house. We have taken away great memories of the Valée de l'Ouche and the cycling routes it offered us. Spectacular scenery, benign weather and quiet country roads,cycling through the vineyards of the Cote D'Or was one of the highlights. As much as we enjoyed our nights out at La Ferme de Rolle and the Grill du Castel in Chateauneuf, we also enjoyed cooking in the homey kitchen of La Maison Verte, playing CD's , drinking local wine and using the herbs and veggies picked that morning in Richards garden.
La Maison Verte has a great vibe, with the love and care of the owners apparant in every detail . We will definitively recommend this house and this area to all our friends
Owner's Response: a 30 minute walk along the canal will bring you to the next village where we live and where you are welcome to come and pick your fresh herbs and vegetables.

We really loved our stay at La Maison Verte! We arrived to find Viola waiting for us as planned and we were thrilled to discover a perfectly appointed cottage with everything we would need for the week including firewood, a fully equiped kitchen complete with french pots for cooking up a Beef Burgundy and let's not forget the fabulous Boulangerie just a few doors down the road! Perfect! The location was exactly what we hoped for, in between Dijon and Beaune, and with a canal nearby for lovely walks. We also enjoyed a memorable lunch at the nearby Abbey.

Viola and Richard are the perfect hosts and made us feel as welcome as if we were old friends visiting for the week! We wished we could have stayed longer and certainly would recommend this cottage to family and friends.

Bedankt La Maison Verte!!

Hallo Viola en Richard,

Wij willen jullie van harte bedanken voor de prachtige vakantie. Jullie huis was super! We voelden ons direct thuis.
We hebben veel gezien en gedaan en genoten van het mooie weer.

We hebben o.a. de volgende dorpen en steden bezocht:

- geshopt in Dijon
- geshopt in Beaune en hotel Dieu bezocht (meer dan de moeite waard)
- Antheuil (waterval)
- St. Marie sur Ouche (lekker gepicknickt langs de Ouche)
- Chateauneuf (wat een fantastisch dorp.
- Lusigny sur Ouche, leuk dorpje met mooie huisjes en een een prachtige Ouche!
- Flavigny sur Ouche, waar de film Chocolat is gemaakt. Prachtig dorp!
- de vide grenier in Charny (waar we o.a. nog twee geweldig leuke lakeipakken voor carnaval hebben gescoord)
- Mont St. Jean (waar de kinderen hebben genoten van het klimmen op de rotsen langs het kasteel)
- Semur-en-Auxois (een prachtig stadje, met grote burcht)
- Nuits Saint Georges en de wijnvelden

We hebben ons niet verveeld!!

We kunnen de pizzeria in Gissey-sur-Ouche ten zeerste aanbevelen! Heerlijke pizza's en nog lekkerdere toetjes (vooral de moelleux van chocolat)

Nogmaals hartelijk dank en ook bedankt voor de gezellige borrel bij jullie thuis. Summer heeft het nog steeds over de pannekoekjes. We gaan deze week ermee aan de slag!

La maison Verte was easy to find and lies in a string of villages in the very beautiful Ouche valley. We had a wonderful stay there for so many reasons. The area has the best wines and food you can imagine, the house is comfortable spacious and has its own unique atmosphere. We all felt home immediately. The beds are good, the bathrooms, the garden, the terrace and bedrooms nice, comfortably etc, but the best part was that every where throughout the whole house there where beautiful (mostly green) details. That made the house very unique; it did not feel like a rented house. You feel really like a guest. Thank you Viola and Richard for making you house available!

Autumn in the Ouche Valley

We stayed at La Maison Vert for three weeks in late September and it truly a memorable time. We were holidaying in France for three months and really wanted to experience a typical Autumn while we were away.
The Autumn leaves were just starting to show when we arrived and by the time we left the scenery was stunning.
Viola and Richard were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Viola cooked a beautiful birthday dinner for Paula - at short notice, which we really appreciated.
We enjoyed the walks, cycling and visiting nearby cities and towns and buying local produce at the markets
The weather was starting to cool, but the house was warm and we even lit the fire a few times
The house is charming and has a great feel to it we really enjoyed living there, it was very comfortable and clean with all the "mod cons" . There was plenty of room even when we had family and friends stay for a few days.
We would highly recommend this property for holidays.
