STUNNING CHAPEL CONVERSION WITH LOVELY ORIGINAL FEATURES

Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in Bideford - The Old School House

Within walking distance to town but in a very quiet private area.

The Old School House is a stunning, large converted Chapel with many lovely original features including large arched chapel windows, open galleried lounge/dining, bricks walls, stained glass windows and doors, log burning stove and even a bell tower! The house can easily accommodate 2 families, with 2 separate lounge areas. The upstairs lounge has views overlooking the River Torridge, Chudleigh Fort and rolling hills. Both double bedrooms have kingsize beds and are very spacious. There is another bedroom with 2 single beds and a smaller bedroom with a single bed with pull out guest bed. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a breakfast area and a double multi-fuel oven for rustling up meals for family and friends.

Outside: The house is approached via a walkway and is in a private walled garden. The garden is terraced with a large decked area and patio. From the decked area you can see over to Chudleigh fort and hills. There are various trees and shrubs planted. It is a very sheltered garden ie a suntrap in summer and good wind protection in winter! The area has no nearby traffic so is very peaceful and private.

Parking: There is parking nearby and very low cost at £2.50 per day.

Upon arriving at The Old School House, we were all overwhelmed at the size and quality of the property. It far exceeded our expectations and the photos on the website did not do it justice.
We had been looking for somewhere to spend Christmas and the New Year away from the hustle and bustle, where we could relax, go for walks and cook. We couldn't have picked a better place. Set in lovely quiet surroundings, The Old School House was clean, had a fully equipped kitchen, was warm and cosy and the beds were comfortable.
We would certainly recommend a stay to anyone.
We hope to return in the summer months.

WOW! This place is truly stunning! It's so big but yet still cosy. The facilities are great with everything you could wish for. We loved sitting in the upstairs lounge and just watching the River Torridge and beyond. I can't say enough about the house, but I would definatley come back and highly recommend it to friends and family.

It was also great being able to stroll into town to browse the shops and cafes. A must is the Pannier market.

We visited loads of places, too many to list. The information provided in the house was very helpful to decide where we were off to the next day!

We will definatley come back to do some more exploring.

A fantastic holiday

We had a fabulous week at The Old School House. The place itself is gorgeous - and very comfortable. We had booked it as we needed a week off with the children following a period of working very hard - and we could not have chosen somewhere better.

We know South Devon very well, but we don't know North Devon at all. However, this was the perfect base for us to explore the more rugged North Devon coast.

The Old School House itself is very big - there were only four of us and it clearly would be quite comfortable for at least eight - although that was one of the reasons we booked it! It was also warm and remarkably cosy for a chapel conversion.

We could not recommend it highly enough and hope to return ourselves one day.

A truly great place to stay, a stunning Chapel conversion conversion with plenty of room if you have a large family or 2 families. The surrounding area is very good with plenty to do for the little ones, this was our third stay and we always call it our second home.

Once again a great location between the Devonshire & Cornish boarder's and close to the coast, it's a place you need to experience.
