Casa Sophia is situated in the exclusive resort of Las Coloradas, in the sunny South of Lanzarote.

Nearby and only an 8 min walk away, you can explore the fantastic natural white beach coves of Payagayo. Here you can go snorkelling and the beaches are known to be the finest in the Canary Islands. Alternatively, Playa Dorada beach, a 3 min drive away, is a lovely bay with sun beds, umbrellas, restaurants, shops & watersports for the more energetic.

In addition to the villa's wonderful location, with its plentiful amenities, it is also, if desired, a haven in which to simply relax and chill out by the villa's own pool.

It boasts large South and West facing terraces for all day sun and there is also an outside covered area and/or parasol in which to take shade. The villa has pretty garden areas stocked with sub-tropical plants, an outdoor shower for use with the pool and a BBQ area adjacent for al fresco dining.

A little about Casa Sophia: Casa Sophia, benefits from South and West facing Terraces for all day sun.

The sunsets that can be experienced in the evenings, are both a joy and a privilege to witness.

A new outside area has been recently constructed for PRIVATE sunbathing. This has been completed to a high standard, with beautiful Spanish ceramic tiles.

A large shaded outside area is also provided with teak wooden table and chairs with comfy cushions. This is ideal for al Fresco dining.

Famous Papagayo Beaches (1 Naturist): Las Coloradas is a carefully planned and exceptionally designed new tropical landscaped area, giving greater access to the famous Papagyo Beaches. Additionally, the resort of Playa Blanca has been developed, with great care, so as not to disturb the natural beauty of the volcanic area in which it resides.

Within the immediate area are 4 excellent Hotels, one in particular stands out, 'THE VOLCAN' (5 Star) - uniquely, it is designed like a volcano. You are welcome in all these hotels.

Many nearby local hotels, bars, shops and Internet cafes provide Internet/Wi Fi facilities...... or alternatively we offer a Dongle facility for use at the villa and is available priced at only €25 per week...........please ask on enquiry for more details.

Tennis Courts and equipment are also available for hire in the Colorada Mar hotel and may be booked in advance at reception.

Declared a Reserve of the Biosphere: Playa Blanca is in the southern most part of Lanzarote. In 1994 Lanzarote was officially declared a Reserve of the Biosphere by UNESCO, and more recently was named by the World Health Organisation as the 2nd healthiest place to live in the world.

The promenade walk (approximately 4km long) extends from Las Coloradas via the Marina Rubicon and Dorada Beach (Golden Beach) to the centre (which hosts the smallest of the 3 main beaches), onto the harbour, and finally to Flamingo Beach/ Lagoon and the luxurious Hotel Timanfaya Palace, to the West of the village. Along here are many exciting shops, restaurants and bars that offer a wonderful selection of Canarian merchandise and food, particularly seafood.

A frequent, car and passenger ferry also goes over to the neighbouring island of Fuerventura from the harbour at this location.

Within a 15 min. coastal walk away with breathtaking & spectacular views en-route, particularly of the neighbouring island, Fuerturventura, is the new impressive MARINA RUBICON, with its moored yachts, bars, plentiful restaurants & shops offering the ultimate experience in which to relax & enjoy your holiday in style. The Marina also offers many recreational activities e.g. Sailing, Scuba Diving, Tennis, Boat Trips.

Golf: There are two golf courses on the island, one of which is a new 18 hole course which has been recently opened, including a clubhouse. The course is based in the resort of Puerto Del Carmen and is an approximate 25 minute drive from the villa.

A golf buggy and equipment may also be hired here.

There is also a further golf course on the island which is based at Costa Teguise, towards the north east of Arrecife.

Additionally, there is a 9 hole Pitch and Putt course nearby in Playa Blanca.

  • 'Casa Sophia' has two double, light, airy and spacious bedrooms with matching modern furniture. Bedroom 1 contains a Large Double bed (Queen Size). Bedroom 2 has twin beds. All beds have excellent comfortable mattresses, and each has a superior range of white cotton bed linen and duvets. The furniture in each room comprises of a large wardrobe, bedside tables and a mirror. The windows in each room contain purpose-fitted, pull down, Mosquito Blinds and Lockable Shutters are also fitted on the outside windows of each bedroom. Both bedrooms benefit from a luxury 'Fantasia' ceiling fan.

Notes: This delightful modern villa has been tastefully furnished to a high standard throughout in a contemporary style, whilst maintaining a SPANISH theme and has been designed to provide maximum comfort. Casa Sophia boasts a spacious beautiful garden and large terrace areas, one of which has a shaded eating area, complete with a hardwood teak wooden table and chairs. There is also an outdoor solar HEATED swimming pool for the sole use of the guests of the villa, and sunbeds with cushions. The lounge area is light and spacious with comfortable Leather Sofas, a sideboard, dining table and chairs. For your pleasure, the villa offers a modern LCD TV with satellite, DVD player with a selection of Dvd's and a stereo Hi-Fi System, with a selection of Cd's. There are two sets of patio doors leading out onto the terraces. Tranquil Heaven

The description of this lovely villa was spot on; it was pristine, both inside and the outside area; spacious and convenient layout with everything you could need for a really relaxing, comfortable break and with the absolute luxury of a private pool! We made use of this daily and then enjoyed the lovely 20/25 minute walk to the Marina Rubicon where there is a variety of eating places, all with an immediate view of the moored yachts and Lanzarote's amazing scenery, beyond.

The owner, Pauline, really could not be more helpful, every detail is covered, with such consideration and a genuine desire to ensure everything goes smoothly for visitors. Nothing was left to chance and Pauline even helped to sort our airport pick-up (driver Gary, collected and returned us to the airport and we also booked him for a trip to the incredible Timfanya). The whole process was just so smooth and I would certainly recommend it to friends and family who are looking for a quiet, restful and very comfortable break. Many thanks to Pauline for being a pleasure to deal with.

A Lanzarote experience!

We stayed at the Casa Sophia in September 2012 and found the place delightful.
Ideally located in Los Colorados the villa is in a quiet location surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
A five minute walk takes you to a local deli (Ropers) whcih caters for most culinary needs including excellent meat and fish. Adjacent to the deli is an excellent pizzeria and at the front a pleasant outdoor bar/cafeteria.

The villa is well appointed and the lounge adequately equipped with comfortable furniture to relax in in the evenings as well as a dining table for that special evening meal. The kitchen area to the rear of the lounge contains everything you need to prepare food, cook it and then a dishwasher to make life easier afterwards. The kitchen contains an electric oven, a micrwave oven as well as a fidge - freezer.

I f you want to watch TV, play a DVD or perhaps listen to a CD then all the necessary equipment is there for you to use.

Outside the villa has two patio's and a swimming pool which means you have a choice all day long as to whether to sit in the sun or the shade. The planted areas of thegarden add to the ambience.

The properrty is exteremely well maintained by the owner and the service staff who visit weekly to change bed linen etc and to clean the pool.

A short walk past the deli will take you to the sea and it is a pleasant stroll following the sea through to the Rubicon Marina where there is a wide choice of bars and restaurants.
A little further on than this brings you to Play Blanca, a much more bustling area with shops, bars and restaurants and an excellent if small sandy beach.
As we have some mobility problems we found it easier to use a local taxi service to get to Playa Blanca and this runs from the taxi rank on the road above the deli. Taxi's are quite frequent and the charge to Play Blanca is just over 4 Euro's each way.

The pre trip information from Pauline, the owner, was invaluable and the villa also contains loads of local information.

Would we return? Absolutely!

Spent a brilliant 2 weeks in this beautiful villa in the perfect location. The villa itself was pristine and we couldn't have wished for better. Pauline the owner couldn't do enough for us and I can honestly say provided the best customer service we have ever had from a holiday. Would thoroughly recommend this villa to anybody.

Great home for a family vacation

What can I say? Casa Sophia was perfectly represented here by the incredibly helpful owner, Pauline. The pictures on the site are true to life--the house is just great and the pool was a definite plus. As one of the other recent reviewers mentioned, I definitely recommend having a car so that you can explore other parts of the island--but the house is so nice to come back to at the end of the day. The pool was kept nicely warm by the solar heat--we swam even on the days which were probably marginal temperature-wise. The Roper's market nearby had everything we needed and our kids (4 and 7) loved the playground which is located just outside Roper's (and we loved the cafe where we could sit and drink our morning coffee while we kept our eyes on them).

This is the first time I have ever booked a private villa and would highly recommend. Pauline is lovely, very realiable, informative and prompt to respond to emails, so if like me you have any concerns about renting privately going by the experience I had, you can be assured that Pauline is great.

The villa was perfect, exactly what we were wanting. Holidaying with my boyfriend we wanted a relaxing time in the sun prior to the birth of our first baby and we certainly had that. The villa is very spacious with a lovely outside area where we were able to chill out, make use of the bbq and the pool was warm enough for us to take a dip. Having a dishwasher and washing machine also made life very easy.

I would recommend hiring a car, which we used much more than I was expecting to explore the island.

Would definately recommend to family and friends who are wanting a relaxing, independant holiday.
