Minimundus is another interesting attraction located in Klagenfurt, which has numerous miniature models of famous buildings from around the world. Visitors can take a look at various forms of wildlife with a zoo located in Klagenfurt and birds of prey can be seen at Landskron.

There are various modern boutiques and places to go shopping in Klagnefurt, which is the capital of the region. Here visitors will also find many traditional outdoor café areas in the historic areas and courtyards of the city. There are many interesting places to visit in Carinthia including numerous historic buildings, castles, cathedrals and churches. Ossiach has an eleventh century Benedictine abbey that was dissolved about a hundred years ago and it now hosts events from the Carinthian Summer Festival. Klagenfurt is surrounded by a total of 23 castles of numerous shapes and sizes and many of them were built around the 12th century.

Numerous museums and galleries can be found in this state too including the Klagnefurt Landesmuseum. A one hour trip from Klagenfurt takes holidaymakers to the Soca/Isonzo Valley in Slovenia, where deep limestone gorges and emerald coloured rivers can be seen.

Travel to Carinthia, Austria

Austrian Airlines serves Carinthia, arriving several times a day at the Klagenfurt Airport, which is located northeast of the city. The airline has flights from London, Berlin, Zurich, Rome and Frankfurt. Klagenfurt also has rail lines connecting Vienna with Venice, Italy and Zagreb with trains arriving from several different directions at intervals of less than half an hour throughout the day. It's easier to take the train, but there are at least twenty different bus lines from Klagenfurt that venture out in to the surrounding region.
